Hanging signs were made for the Cabela’s stores to look like rough, hewn wood. Signs were made for stores in the following locations: East Hartford, Ct; Gonzales, LA; Hammond, IL; Hoffman Estates, IL; Lacey, WA; Post Falls, ID and Reno, NV.
The signs were constructed from hard coated cardboard tubes that were then covered with “Flex Bark” ( sprayed urethane in a flexible bark mold) and caped with hand cast, resin log ends.
The "flex bark" was cut along the grain of the wood, PVA glues and wrapped around the tubes. Under and over coats of paint were used to bring out the texture of the "bark".
