World Premiere Play

Lookingglass Theatre Company's 50th world premiere, The Brothers Karamazov, an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel, written and directed by Lookingglass ensemble member Heidi Stillman, the play is drawn from a translation by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky.
As this was a world premiere the props were often in flux during the production of the show as many scenes were added, changed or scrapped entirely.
All of the props needed to have a 'lived in" look and feel to them. Sometimes they were merely abstractions of what they were representing.
Some of the items sourced from antique stores and architectural salvage sites included a chaise lounge, industrial work lamps and a working 3' church bell.
