In the Studio

Spring is in the air and nature seems to be coming back to life every day. Being able to expereince a "real" spring this year is amazing. Normally we go from cold and dreary to 90 degrees and humid overnight. Having temperatures inthe 50s is quite nice.

If you were at my last show you saw that I have started to dabble a bit in stained glass. Now that the weather is warming up; I am ramping up my work (since I like to do all the messy, glass shard throwing things outside).

I am inspired by all of the native brids that are coming back to the area. We had out first orieol sighting last week, you can't miss their bright orange plumage. Maybe in a week or two the hummingbirds will be back too. I cut some pieces for feather sun catchers and cant wait to get to work assembling them. I'll post them to the store when I finish a good amount. Since I don't have any shows until the fall, you will have the opportunity to purchase early.

I am also planning on making more garden stakes/plant jewelry and a propogation station hanging suncatche as well.

More towards the fall I will have quilt block pumpkins and some christmas ornamnets.

I hope evryone is finding inspirtation from their backyards and gardens and rmember, when things get overwhelming a simple nature walk will do wonders. Leave the phone at home (or if you must, stick it in your pocket), take the earbuds out and breath in the spring air (maybe even pet a dog or two).
